Gymkhana for Trolleybus Drivers: Yangwang U9 at Grand Valley Weekly Challenge

Trying to get the Yangwang U9 through the technical sectors of Grand Valley Highway 1 feels like trying to parallel park a freight train. Out of the box it just plows straight ahead and refuses to turn. By combining Stage 3 weight reduction with an extreme suspension geometry bias, this build provokes the rear end to rotate on corner entry on Racing Soft tyres.

The Benchmark

Highlights

  • Suspension Geometry: A massive 3.4 degrees of negative camber on the front and outward 0.15 toe keep the tyre contact patch alive under heavy cornering loads.
  • Cornering Physics: The braking phase is completely unforgiving. Hold the brake pedal even 5% into the apex and the front tyres will instantly give up.
  • Driving Technique: Brake hard in a straight line, get off the pedal entirely to let the chassis settle then turn the wheel and use the throttle to rotate the rear.
