The Setup Details
- Tyres: Racing Hard. Not only do they easily survive all 15 laps, but they also drop the PP significantly to allow more performance out of the aero.
- Weight Distribution: 74 kg of ballast at position -50 achieves a perfect 50:50 weight balance. This chassis feels incredible when perfectly neutralized.
- Aerodynamics: With the PP saved from the Hard tyres, dump absolutely every free PP point into Front Downforce (cranked up to 601). The rear is maxed at 1500. It bites into medium-speed corners like a train.
- Transmission Tweak: Set the Auto Top Speed to 300 km/h.
- Crucial step: The auto setting leaves 5th gear way too long (around 312 km/h). Manually shorten 5th gear so it tops out at 305 km/h. This keeps the rotary engine right in its optimal powerband on straights without bogging down on upshifts.
Suspension & Differential
Instead of just slamming the car to the ground, the suspension geometry is calculated for maximum stability over Sardegna's heavy curbs.
- Suspension Damping: Natural frequency is set to 3.60 / 3.75 Hz. The trick is in the damping ratio. Compression is soft (22%) to absorb kerb strikes while Expansion is stiff (40%) so the chassis does not bounce back like a pogo stick. Your tyre contact patch stays glued to the tarmac.
- Differential (10/24/23): Acceleration sensitivity at 24 locks up nicely for predictable corner exits while a braking sensitivity of 23 keeps the lightweight rear end completely stabilized under heavy trail braking.
Race Strategy & Fuel Management
- Fuel Map 6: Keep it on FM6 from the starting line to the checkered flag.
- Lift & Coast: Use aggressive short shifting and plenty of lift and coast before heavy braking zones. Let the momentum of the car do the work.
- The Golden Rule: Check your fuel gauge before starting the final lap! If you drove a bit too aggressively and are short on fuel - JUST PIT. Your gap to P2 will be massive anyway. Trying to stretch an empty tank and crawling for half a lap at 80 km/h will absolutely cost you the win.
- Dynamic Brake Bias (Bonus Tip): Adjust your Brake Balance on the fly for extra confidence in heavy braking zones. Start the race with BB at -1 or -2 (Front) for rock-solid stability on a full tank. Around lap 8 or 9, shift it back to 0 or +1 (Neutral/Rear) to help the car rotate effortlessly into corners.
